      Innovative company in the artificially intelligent field

      Pros

      Nuance is the speech recognition leader. Nuance would like to be a major player in the artificially intelligent field. This companies invests a lot in R&D. The jobs in SW engineering are very fun and stimulating. The newest and coolest programming technology is used e.g. Spring Boot and micro services. Even if it is a large company, there exist many little independent departments working on a plethora of SW products.

      Cons

      To stay number one in a market also comes with sacrifices. Each department has to demonstrate high-performance otherwise there can be cuts.

      Good benefits. Value talent when it is aligned with the business focus. Well organized and execution driven teams. Driven teams.

      Cons

      People are only valued as long as they needed for particular project. As soon as funding stops nobody cares about retaining talent. It becomes your responsibility to notice when project stop doing well and start looking around. Recruiters at the same time will be hiring from the outside when planning layoffs of the same people they need.
