      None that I can think of

      Cons

      1) People steal your work and take credit 2) They treat you like they own you or something. Lot of trash talking 3) You are supposed to just take all the abuse they throw at you 4) No learning experience 5) No structure or guidelines for any of the project. You are just supposed to magically come up with solutions overnight to problems that you are not even given details about

      Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you didn’t pass the three-month probation period at Optym. We take the probation period very seriously. It is an opportunity for us to assess whether the person hired is a good fit for Optym; that is, the person will grow and learn over time and will contribute to Optym’s success and growth. Statistically, over 80% of the candidates pass the probation period. We can thus understand why you are upset with us and have written derogatory comments that we do not apply to us. What you have written is contrary to common experience at Optym. We give challenging projects to our team members so that they are continuously learning, we treat them with respect, the CEO has an open door policy and is available to meet any team member personally to help her/him in any way he can, and technical leads value all team members contributions. Anyway, we wish you good luck and success in your new job.

      Company with Great learning Environment

      Pros

      Amazing team members hungry to solve real-world challenging problems. The team is like a family where everyone looks after the other. The team runs with a philosophy “No man left behind” Real world practical problems that are not in textbooks. Solve them and see it part of a real product being deployed at multi-billion dollar corporations. We get great Sense of accomplishment with every line of code or idea added to the product. The learning curve is very steep. You pitch to VP and sometimes C level executive during project executions. First hand learning from their thought process and experiences. There is no parallel to such learning and people struggle years to get this in large corporations. Optym is headed in an area which is rich with optimization, simulation, and AI problems. Growth is exponential both financially as well as in skill sets. Optym takes care of employees with yearly bonuses (very handsome compared to industry) and profit interest units. Most of the employees are the owners and exhibit a high sense of ownership. One of the best companies to work for in my career. Forgot to mention, Optym is Right in the middle of Florida with lovely weather, access to Beaches and Disney world. Perfect place to settle down with kids, family and a perfect Job.

      Cons

      Just like any other growing company, initial teething pains are there. As the company is growing, there are some new processes and policies being added; however, the good news is that everything is discussed and decided in a very democratic manner. Every opinion counts, however, democracy comes at a cost.

What Optym and Gainesville offer to our team members is: a great place to live and grow your family, all year round wonderful weather, highly affordable housing that will be undreamt of in large cities, an exciting place to work and contribute, earn top wages and save decent money, and the potential to be very wealthy when the company reaches its target valuation.
