Pros

You're busy all day long so time goes by fast. Unlimited vacation. You can work from home whenever you want. Offshore employees work US hours.

Cons

High stress job, no opportunity for growth, mediocre salaries and shrinking bonuses. Everyone is sitting in line waiting for a promotion and when they do have openings to promote within they either hire from the outside or they hire a friend from another team. Without declaring within the team that there is an opening so others can apply.

Pros

- the flexible benefits are ok - good brand name (although that's getting debatable in the tech world) - pace is slow - good if you don't really want to contribute and want a relatively stable position, or if you want to retire

Cons

- too much politics. Directors here are constantly trying to one up another to look good to their bosses, without actually caring for quality of work put in. They care more about 'showing face' than actual work. - no one really bothers to learn about the products they are selling & business leaders don't really understand the business or the general tech landscape at all - no increment / progression - learning is very slow - they promote a 'self-service' culture which is just code word for 'couldn't be bothered to give you guidance' - a lot of managers are micromanagers - likes to monitor your movement, have zero trust for employees, are very nitpicky about small details. fails to see the bigger picture, and does not care for the right goals. Also very lazy - unwilling to lift their fingers for a simple task as changing a single word in a powerpoint deck, for example.

Pros

In my role I worked remote. I met many great colleagues and long time friends who all have benefited from leaving.

Cons

I worked their for 17 years, had 3 Job Title promotions, more responsibilities, with very small raises & hardly any bonus’. Increased my salary over 17 years by $15K, in California and this economy; no 2nd thoughts when I was presented with a fantastic opportunity to do the same job I do today, and get recognized for doing a good job & working hard. Oracle does not value their employees dedication. There was no communication on strategies, goals or incentives to employees. It was discouraging when you don’t get a bonus or raise, but another company is acquired.
