      Oracle is a great place to work

      Pros

      1. Interesting work - part of a world class development / sales team 2. Great place to learn new stuff - vast resources available internally 3. HQ campus is really nice, lots of space, gym is great, six cafeterias to get lunch

      Cons

      1. Salaries not competitive / raises are seldom - usually only for selected few in the team 2. Hiring people in US is almost always under 'freeze' - if someone leaves then the rest of the team just gets more work - replacement hires are seldomly approved 3. Direction of new products / aquisitions is sometimes confusing.

      Pros

      --overtime pay for some groups --flexible work hours and locations --brilliant people in many different areas --incredible autonomy in some groups and teams

      Cons

      --too easy for junior level people to move up into senior management within 2 years --too many promotions without pay raises --no pay raises in general --no more stock options --performance reviews are a complete waste of time

      - a chance to work with people from various backgrounds and cultures

      Cons

      -very bad compensation and benefits given (e.g. bonuses) -very very little salary increment if any -salary not competitive enough -no real training and career development structure, you're on ad hoc basis
