      Secure employment in tough times, but company's success doesn't always filter down.

      Pros

      Large company with a lot of room for movement between groups. Solid dominance in the market, resulting in relatively secure employment during tough times. Plenty of flexibility in work schedule, including part- and full-time telecommuting (depending on your group).

      Cons

      Bureaucracy, unnecessary shortage of testing resources sometimes, resulting in wasted work hours when the right hardware would have saved so much time. Promotions do not necessarily result in raises.

      Its a company to settle down after 40 years

      Pros

      - Flexible timings - Decent salaries - Work culture - Nice senior Management with great focus on company's growth - No hard dead lines unless works on customer issues.

      Cons

      - No longer a pay master - Since its produce based company, you will end up working with same assignment for years and years - Exposure to different modules from the functionality perspective is less, unless you moved to different team

      Pros

      Oracle is a terrific brand to work for, when working in the IT industry, if Oracle is in an account, it's never going anywhere so there is tremendous upside to continue to sell into the account. As part of an acquisition I was given better benefits and resources to sell. I was also able to tap into their tremendous sales force that has great reaches into multiple contacts within accounts.

      Cons

      Their existing software sales force is very hard to work with as they are controlling and look at those who were acquired by Oracle as direct reports when that could not be any further from the truth. You receive a sizeable car allowance a month but can not expense mileage unless you are traveling an exuberant amount of miles a week. My major issue was the lack of ability to move within the company for 6 months after the acquisition and thus no pay increase.
