      Pros

      Fantastic and smart network with the employees that work at Oracle. Good work and reward culture.Sales driven environment. Oracle is a great company to include on any resume. Very Structured. Great Brand Name Recognization, Great Training Program, Very optimistic young atmosphere

      Cons

      The company has a very high pressure work atmosphere. Hours can be quite heavy during crunch time for every level and every LOB. Oracle is constantly changing and improving. Many reorgs take place but if you could put with changes, you can learn a lot.

      Pros

      Oracle consistently pushes to keep consultants trained in the latest technology, and provides opportunities to exercise those technologies. Oracle allows consultants to take risks in order to succeed (or fail) based primarily on the individual's own performance. Oracle has no problem booting poor performers out the door. It keeps one pushing to stay on the edge. Benefits and salaries are better than average for the region. A good long-term assignment can make Oracle employment very rewarding.

      Cons

      It's not warm and fuzzy, it's competitive. It runs through cycles of collecting too many management layers looking for something to do (but cleans house by reorganizing annually to help shake them out). There is pressure to travel frequently and there are limited alternatives to excessive travel. It is often a place to learn Oracle technologies well, pay your dues, and depending on available assignments, just move on.

      Large, stable corporation not known for innovation

      Pros

      Established company with a lot of stability, good employee benefits. Oracle is a dominant player in its core areas despite threats from SAP and growing MySQL threat.

      Cons

      Not very innovative. It can be hard to change the direction of projects and many middleware projects seem doomed to fail or has very little potential for impact. Currently Oracle is hard to beat because it has many existing clients who are too lazy to switch to other products but eventually people will switch to superior products. You cannot simply fight SAP with aggressive salespeople. Too much acquisition can cause indigestion. There are many clients frustrated by the lack of integration between Oracle's products.
