Despite moving away from it, the company isn't well known outside of the CAD/PLM world, so there are some name recognition issues, unlike Qualcomm. While the company tries to act like a startup, there are many layers of process in place that make it feel more like an lumbering corporate giant stuck in 1985.
We have so many issues in the San Diego office with the network, especially the wireless. Our IT person is very helpful, and he does a great job of keeping systems running smoothly, but it's very obvious that he doesn't get much help from HQ. I know we're not the only remote office having issues, but for a software company, the infrastructure could be much better.
Pay is slightly below market, and raises are meager, no bonuses unless you're in sales. Hard to get excited about some internal initiatives, like PTC 2020 and Zone to Win; feels very corporate and contrived. No one in our office is allowed to work-from-home, while PTC as a whole has a generous WFH policy.
