      The "new PTC" is great... if you still work there

      Great benefits--wellness time, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) match, medical/dental, occasional stock grants, generous PTO Challenging work--opportunities to use modern tools and grow in the industry Smart, friendly, talented, and innovative coworkers--some of the most amazing people I've ever worked with

      Cons

      For the last couple years, since the division VP of R&D came on board, the corporate environment has changed. Layoffs happened every 3-6 months, lowering morale and increasing workload. The highest levels of management value flashy but small innovations, rather than people who have been contributing steadily to the company over several years.

      Pros

      Leading innovative products, talented employees who can make a difference and are rewarded for it, a collaborative culture, an executive team that are all rowing in the same direction all make PTC a great place to work, especially if you pride yourself in making a difference and achieving great things. People are friendly, very smart, and want to make a difference. Friday social hours, employee resource groups, change-maker recognition, and stock grant to all employees demonstrate a focus on the importance of our people, who make everything possible.

      Cons

      PTC wants to drive positive change, and while the company emphasizes and rewards this, there are still pockets of resistance, which is probably to be expected in a 30-year old company. Some people have been at PTC so long, that while they have great historical, institutional knowledge, they don't have much perspective on how others outside are solving problems today.

      Pros

      Paychecks came on time, benefit options were pretty fair. When I was diagnosed with cancer, they worked hard to make sure I was covered and when I wasn't able to do my job, they offered a generous severance package.

      Cons

      The company that I had been working for was bought by PTC. We were promised that no one would be fired, which lasted about 6 months, wherein many of the very valuable people from my old company were let go. Working conditions and morale tanked.
