Pros

Learn how to create, maintain and support great software. Great place to earn bleeding edge front-line CAD\Scientific and Mathematical software industry experience. Technical managers are knowledgeable and have been many years in the company. Work environment is supportive and helps you achieve your professional goals. Flexible hours. Good place to padd your CV Offices are nice and spacious. Technical staff are very professional.

Cons

Long hours in software development ( in Creo Pro\E teams at least ), at least 10.5 hours of work\day. Very long time till promotion ( 5+ years ). No significant bonuses or none-salary compensation in lower or entry level positions. Future and long term development is not clear. You only focus on the short term goals. Experience gained will be limited to a very specific area. Staying a long time in the company will damage your future hireability. No quirks like free food as in other leading Software companies. Most of your time ( ~90% of total work time ) will be devoted to fixing bugs and supporting specific customers, R&D and new product devlopment is limited ( ~10% of total work time).

Pros

PTC offers excellent vacation days - up to 6 weeks (plus 10 holidays) for 10+ years of service. Flex time is great, but can vary by manager. Many [at least partial] WFH opportunities.

Cons

Employees do not come 1st (or 2nd or 3rd). PTC hires in anticipation of more work, which doesn't come through, and then has layoffs just about every year. No raises in 3 of the last 6 years. No money for training or career development. Rarely promote from within.

Stable place to work at

Pros

If you are looking for a stable place to work at, PTC is the place for you. Even in rough economic times, there were no large-scale layoffs. There are a lot of employees who have been with the company for many years, which is quite uncommon in the High Tech industry.

Cons

This company is not a place where you can get promoted quickly. Most promotions take 5 to 7 years to happen. The salaries here range from low to average. Other forms of compensation, such as bonuses and stock options are poor.
