Pros

Well known brand and health benefits are good in comparison to many other firms. Nice cafe and for middle to senior management a company Audi to drive.

Cons

The company is driven by HQ in Japan and expats that are rotated in from Japan for three to five year assignments. Many of the management that did the heavy lifting to build the brand either left for greener pastures where they could grow or were eliminated. If you want to spread your wings and work in an open-minded environment this is not the place. Lots of puppets.

Pros

-- Market leader in in-flight entertainment system development -- Good employee benefits -- Employees are treated with respect and trusted -- Nice clean facilities -- Employee discount on Panasonic products

Cons

-- Very hard to change projects. Once you're assigned to work on project A, you're stuck with it forever and responsible for sustaining it after it's finished. At the same time you get new projects to be responsible for. -- Projects don't consist of much variations since this division only makes one type of product, which is in-flight entertainment systems. As a result, it's very easy lose motivations and stop learning new things. -- Very easy to get in especially for engineers. As a result, there's a lot of unqualified engineers here w/ substandard skills and makes it hard for other competent engineers who are forced to work with them. It slows the more proficient engineers down because more often they either have to take over or spoon-feed the less skilled engineers on their projects. Also, the less competent engineers are hurting the products' quality.
