Pros

My co-workers were always very friendly and I felt that there was a very good work/life balance. We were able to work from home one day a week and we had half day friends in the summer and in the holiday season.

Cons

As a Contractor, I felt like a second class citizen sometimes. They do a poor job of laying out the steps needed to become a full-time employee. My role was pretty much given away to another employee. Instead of training me for another position, I was just given a little notice that my job was ending. I know people who were contractors for years. Even the email address says "contractor" in it.

Pros

PepsiCo is a solid company that provides stable employment. You will work with a variety of people. The company is constantly innovating to stay competitive in the market place.

Cons

I have worked for Frito Lay for 10 years. In the last three years I have taken a cut in pay each year due to route re engineering. There are the early mornings and long days, but that comes with the position. It seems as though the company does not value there front line workers as much as they did.

Pros

Even though you will work a lot of hours, you can pretty much be lazy and get by, as long as you don't have safety incidents or let unsaleables get out of control DSLs are either too lazy or too busy to be on your case about things.

Cons

With few a exceptions (not all routes are created equal) if you want to make money you will be working an insane amount of hours, so is it really worth it? You are expected to bring product into stores to make sales goals whether it's needed or not. So the better you can lie to people, the better you will do. ZERO concern for work-life balance. Big pay cuts slowly rolling out company wide with the elimination of commission pay.
