Pros

Made lots of great friends, we all work as a team & help each other out, have a good laugh, feels a bit like a family, 20 hour contract which is better than some places which offer less contracted hours, supportive co-workers/supervisors/managers (not all of them but I always feel like there's someone I can go to if I need to), enjoy helping nice customers, relaxed atmosphere, I like that I'm told what I'm doing at the start of my shift and then I'm pretty much left to get on with it unless they want me to do something different, it's better than having managers constantly breathing down your neck and telling you you're doing everything wrong! Members of staff, supervisors and management are generally happy, polite and smiley, very accommodating.

Cons

Rude customers, some bad managers/supervisors, the mess!!! Boring, repetitive tasks which can drive me to insanity some days but other days it doesn't bother me and it's nice that the tasks are easy because I can just be relaxed at work, no staff discount, I know it's cheap but still! Low pay, it's £6.50 an hour now which is minimum wage, I'm hoping for a pay rise in the new tax year!

Pros

Overally good student job.. -Flexible with hours (can request early or late shifts) -Normally easy to get time off -Good breaks well above minimum requirements -Easy going managers and supervisors -Working mainly with other students (weekend) -Great nights out and nice colleagues generally -Decent pay for a student -Hardly any hassle from management -Easy money -Overtime available throughout the year -Store manager ignores staff

Cons

-Repetitive work.. can be frustrating to tidy up a department several times each day only for customers to continuously mess it up in front of you -Low class customers - screaming kids and parents shouting and swearing -Little attention from managers and left mainly to your own devices which can leave you feeling forgotten about -Mainly working late shifts depending on store (half past 7 finish on a Saturday was the norm) -No discount or staff benefits -A lot of lazy staff who wouldn't get away with how little work they do in any other shop -Favouritism (this is not based on how good you are at your job)
