I loved working here but some of the negatives may put you off
Pros
I was a working mum and the manager was very supportive in giving me hours around my time. The working environment is good but some of the colleagues were zombies. They didn't even speak to people. It didn't bother me to much but other employees were fun to be around.
Cons
Unfortunately, this overtakes the pros! The hourly pay was rubbish. I was only getting paid the minimum wage and I had to work like a machine at the tills because of how busy Primark gets. It gets extremely hot inside and it does get tiring when your at the tills and you need to be working at speed. Sometimes, you need to work extra hours as there is way too many customers and the queues seem to be never ending. At one point, we were told in a meeting to approach a different strategy at the tills to speed up the process and that did work. If your a customer, you know how messy it gets. Customers leave the place like hell and we have to pick things up of the floor refold the trousers and shirts and put them back accordingly. Black Friday and Boxing Day are the worst. Honestly, it is hard work. The benifits package is horrendous. If your 16,17,18 this is a good place to kick-start your career but not the best.
