Pros

Procter and Gamble provides good life and work balance. Salaries are also competitive. Other thing I like about this is company is that you can choose to persue your carrier in other fields too.

Cons

Company is so big that sometime your work can be overlooked. Only people from higher ranks are invited in important business meetings. Whereas, most of the work is done by people from t1 level. Having these folks present at the meeting can help answer some important questions.

Pros

Heavy emphasis on personal growth such as leadership skills, managing your career, and navigating through the company. The company itself is very reputable with well-known brands across the globe and a long history of success. Even if you decide not to stay, the fact that you've worked here is good experience to have on your resume. Non-R&D functions have great mobility and recognition. If you consider P&G as a non-Engineer, the commercial functions are by far more rewarding both professionally and personally.

Cons

Advancement is difficult if you come into R&D as a researcher. The ceiling for advancement is typically 2 levels up. Ironically, 2 levels up is exactly where B.S. Engineers come in as a starting level. A person coming into the company with a Masters in Science starts 2 levels BELOW a Bachelor's Engineer. A Ph.D. starts at the same level as a Bachelor's Engineer. Almost all R&D upper management has an engineering background and perpetuates the mentality of engineering equals superiority.

Pros

Benefits and perks are good. They give out free product (consumer goods) to their employees relatively frequently. Training is also very good for personal growth and technical understanding. The style of work is also unique compared to other R&D-related careers.

Cons

Career advancement is slow being in such a large company. Career system is also unbalanced, favoring engineers over other sciences. Many people are also overworked and have difficulty balancing work and personal life. There are also a variety of management personalities, making it difficult for effective communication and coaching. There is a large variety of departments in the company and big emphasis in the brands and projects related to brands are usually more recognized.
