Pros

Great to have on CV. Learned a lot from the experience which I’ve been able to go on and apply elsewhere. It’s true that you learn as much from poor managers as you do from good ones. I certainly learned how not to people manage and that I need look out for number one in future. Money and benefits are good pros but not worth it in my opinion.

Cons

P&G talk the talk about mental wellness and work-life balance. From my experience I found this to be little more than hot air. My self esteem was completely eroded during my time here and I cried more often than not when I got home from work. People were superficially friendly and caring but would actually use your weaknesses against you if you chose to trust and confide in them. I felt extremely out of my depth due to being put on a large account and customer with very little support (this was a graduate role). The role also wasn’t what I expected - extremely admin and spreadsheet heavy. The company also talks about ‘safe learning spaces’. There was no such thing. I am so relieved to have left this toxic workplace behind me and to be excelling in a new role elsewhere which I love.

Pros

Good pay, great exposure into what's happening from the bottom to the top of the company

Cons

-Flexible schedule doesn't mean you can come in to work and go out anytime to enjoy. It means you have so much work and no time to enjoy -Line Managers won't hesitate to throw you under the bus if they feel that your performance will effect their position in the company. -High turn over rate due to the working culture where you always have to eat more than what you can chew.

Habit to short-change their experience hire - in terms of everything?

Pros

Most people are very driven and passionate about their work

Cons

Treat experienced hires like fresh graduate and discount your years of working experience (Based on PG internal metric, they will lower your years of exp). Usually ask experience hire to take a paycut by leverage heavily on PG brand equity. Promise to grow their career and the flexibility to align their role with their interest. Yet, promises are subject to various conditions. Hence, think twice for a career switch
