Pros

Receive a paycheck in very diffucult time to find other employment. Depending on the department you are in they will help you succeed and treat you with respect.

Cons

Some departments are very accomodating to employees and treat employees as adults, however other departments Product Supply's CSO are very controlling and look downward on employees. Some departments encourage employees to succeed however at the same time you have other department again Product Supply's CSO that will not let employees move onward or upward.

Pros

- Excellent culture. Good emphasis on ethics and consumer focus. - Good work / life balance encouraged by the organization - Other companies love to see P&G on your resume, it will definitely be a good thing. - Good corporate trainings, specially if this is your first job, P&G will invest in developing you. - Stable work environment, if you work for P&G you really have to put on a good effort to get laid off.

Cons

- Slow progress on your career, as a young professional in my 20's this was a bit of a drag. They will not tell you this but the minimum standard for getting to band 1 is 2 years. Promote from within means you play by their rules and time schemes. - P&G Costa Rica has low salaries for IT employees. This was a problem since I joined on day 1, and I worked for 4 years. Their "IDS" function as they call it is not being paid competitively, me and my friends left one by one for higher paying jobs outside. They say they pay competitively but I was being paid less than the average salaries of my college graduation classmates. - In some areas (non-IT), politics plays a large role in who gets promoted instead of who really is performing.

Pros

Principled and value driven company. Compensation is among the best in the industry. Gives sufficient flexibility in working hours (however this is based on the role). Entire company is focused to deliver a single objective, which brings clarity. If one says and does the right things, potential for career advancement is bright.

Cons

One's perception is an important factor in promotions/career advancement. One cannot be blunt, which leads to time inefficiencies sometimes. Since everyone is measured on the same parameters, work gets delegated downwards, so one constantly lives in the firefighting mode. One needs to be extremely diplomatically correct while expressing opinions. So the entire atmosphere is very guarded.
