Pros

Procter & Gamble is a fantastic company to work for in many ways. They stood behind me during a serious health issue and I was always treated as a valued employee.

Cons

As with any large company, there were many layers to work through to get to a person who was able make decisions. It was sometimes frustrating dealing with the required red tape.

Pros

Pretty stable company during tough economic times.

Cons

R&D folks are not treated as well as the Marketing, CMK, Finance and other commerial functions. In R&D it takes a long time to get promoted from Band 2 to Band 3 and from Band 3 to Band 4 - this is even more true if one prefers staying in technical career path. The P&G management and Human Resources have intentionally kept the process this way citing many excuses. On the other hand folks in many commercial functions get promotions faster and easier.
