Pros

Great autonomy afforded to employees. Effective, systematic methods for getting things done and figuring out the toughest problems. Good work-life balance (45 hours a week). Really smart and personable team members. A ton of top notch brands to work for, and strong opportunities to cross over into the US for greater opportunities.

Cons

High complexity within the company, tough to have clear (and fast) communication between teams and functions. Very meritocratic, relatively slow career curve. Tough to be super creative and formulate strategies unique to Canada. A bit rigid in its memo structure, quite nitpicky when it comes to wording and "P&G Lingo."

Pros

Procter & Gamble is a very diverse company which provides a vast array of opportuniites for young workers to mold their careers. We have a very thorough training process and fairly structured evaluation process. Management tends to rely heavily on the independence of new employees, and place them in positions of significant responsibility early in their carrers. P&G also draws very talented people, which provides a work environment which is stimulating and enjoyable. Work-life balance is valued by senior managment, which makes them flexible when it comes to taking care of personal matters. Rather than focusing on face-time, P&G values your overall work product when it comes to evaluating performance.

Cons

P&G is located in Cincinnati, OH, which may be generally considered less than desirable. As a derivative of its location, there is a fair amount of close-mindedness in addressing world issues and contrary political views. Also, since P&G hires very talented people, there is some dissatisfaction with the promotion process, as we are all ambitious people, vying for a limited number of slots in upper managment.

Pros

People: first class Opportunities: lots of roles to keep you interested Compensation: very competitive Profit Sharing: a great profit sharing program

Cons

Layers: lots of layers of senior management Head office: it is located in cincinnati - while that is good from a cost of living perspecitve, it may not be suitable to everyone.
