Pros

It's a great company! Their ethical behavior and principles match my own. They are flexible and your career is yours to manage. P&G has a system for everything. These systems include: work and development planning, training, promotions, travel, expense reports. There are acronyms for everything and it will take a while to get to know them. P&G values people who transfer into new roles and bring their experiences from other roles. They continually are looking to develop the next generation of leaders.

Cons

It's a big company - you can get lost in the shuffle. Their compensation is not competitive in high cost areas as they pay on a national average. P&G has a system for everything. If structure is a bother to you this is probably not the place you want to work.

Pros

The best resasons to work for Procter & Gamble are the fantastic brands. Because Procter & gamble is so large there is a tremendous amount of leverage with the customer. Compensation is also relatively strong.

Cons

The largest downside of working at Procter & Gamble is the size of the company creating enormous amounts of bureaucracy and an inflexibility in order to react to market demands. Unrealistic goals combined with a unwaivering reliance on outdated metrics create a difficult work environment. Work & Life Balance are wholly ignored and workloads are unreasonable. The secretive nature of the company also creates a culture of fear and suspicion.

Pros

The ability to work most of the time your OWN hours. The way your work is reported either via the internet or sidekick (similar to the palm pilot). To work for a company that most people know of the products and some of which have been around for many many years such as Tide, Olay and Pamper's.

Cons

The lack of hourly pay that you receive as a merchandiser. The inability to be included in retirement incentives or 401K savings. No medical coverage offered for part-time employees
