Pros

Brand name, that’s it. Can’t think of anything else

Cons

If you’re white and enjoy office politics this is the place for you. The women in management have serious anger management issues. My entire cohort left in less than a year. We would get screamed and verbally abused for asking a basic question. There’s so much politics and strong pulling going on, you keep wondering if you’re going crazy. I caught up with an ex colleague of mine who said she had to go into therapy because it was her first job and everyone just keep yelling at her. It took me about 6 months to stop having severe anxiety after leaving. I work at another big 4 now and it’s nothing like Pwc. Horribly toxic place that will have you questioning yourself. For example, during the review period one project manager got mad that I refused to let her pick me up from the hotel at a client location. I have so many stories that people cannot believe how awful things were

Pros

Prestige of working at a Big 4.

Cons

- Everyone is BURNED OUT. - Management expectation is unreasonable. - They make you work on your planned leaves. - Makes you feel bad about taking a vacation / sick leave. - Underpaid. - Last minute OTs. - Makes you feel bad when you're unwilling to render OT. - Unpaid OTs. - Way too many meetings you spend more time in huddles than doing the actual work. - Policies change everyday! How are we supposed to keep up with everything? - We have a lot of staff but you're expected to complete tasks that are supposed to be accomplished by a whole team. - Disorganized management. - Management ALWAYS overcommit to their Clients without consulting to the people working under them. - GOSSIPING. - FINGER-POINTING. - Everything is just toxic! - Management is blind to their own faults. - They hold this small award ceremony where they recognize the top performing analysts and signatories but always fails to recognize the backbones of the teams. In short, you have to be pabibo at work ;)
