Pros

- Amazing client base with unparalleled opportunities. Ability to work across different industries, with different clients and in locations across the world provides variety and great career development - Travel opportunities (if you want it) - been able to work across Europe, ME, US and Asia which has been incredibly rewarding - People culture - collaborative, friendly colleagues (from all backgrounds) and leadership. You'll make friends for life at PwC. Firm will always offer you support when you need it. - Great progression opportunities - you'll be promoted as soon as you can demonstrate performance at the grade above -High performing and driven colleagues motivate you to be your best -The power of the brand - with time at PwC you'll always be employable

Cons

- Compensation below Director level feels misaligned to the responsibilities and pressures that come with the role. This is no 9-5 job and for extended periods it can be difficult to maintain a work-life balance - but support is always there. - To perform at the top levels, a considerable contribution over and above your full time client facing role is required (though this varies across the business) - BD, capability development etc, which can make work-life balance difficult at times - Can be difficult for experienced hires with no network - relationships and reputation key to get the best roles

Pros

- Career Progression - I got promoted from Manager to Senior Manager while working there - Great to build a good network of people - Social events are great - Good to have PwC on your CV

Cons

- Performance Framework/Process is based on Partner opinion of you and not on data. You can achieve all of your goals for the year and still be given a mediocre performance rating with a reason of 'you didn't create any new propositions' for example, even though you were never aware you had this goal in the first place; - They only value people who bring in revenue - if you are great at your job and always deliver and are valued by your clients and those in your team, this does not matter. The only thing that is valued is revenue; - Individuals who don't perform across the 'People, Client and Firm' axis are still promoted if they bring in revenue regardless of all their other goals; - Work-Life balance is terrible. I was 100% allocated to a full-time project and was still asked to do more and more which led me to working late every single day for most of my time at the firm (3.5+ years) - No positivity - During every management team interaction with the Partner I worked for, we were always told how we needed to do more. There was never any praise for work that was done well. Even when feedback from other partners was great, the partner I worked for would look for fault. - As you become more senior, you are expected to be a sales person even if this is not your strength (or desire). You are given goals with sales targets when your area of expertise is delivering great work to clients and not selling projects - Salary is not competitive - You can get more money working in an industry role with less stress

Pros

- The brand name - Experience hours towards CPA license

Cons

This is probably the most toxic, soul-sucking environment you will encounter in your entire career. Corporate America on steroids. You will not get the training and coaching you need to do the job properly but you will be thrown under the bus by your superiors. The company is super disorganized and dysfunctional. Extremely fast-paced. You won’t actually learn many skills other than how to deal with BS and abuse. Busy season is an absolute nightmare. If you do not have a strong emotional support system outside of work or if being rich isn’t your #1 goal in life, you will likely not do well here. Please understand that you have other options besides working at one of the Big 4!!
