PwC G&PS is the worst place you can ever land yourself at!

Pros

No matter how objectively I think, there is seriously nothing that I am able to conjure up that I can count up as Pros. If you put a knife to my throat and ask me, I would say the brand value is definitely there. However, the brand value probably exists due to the audit business, which PwC is a master of. But G&PS certainly is the worst business unit within PwC. I am sure all other units with in PwC are much better.

Cons

Zero planning, random deployments of resources just about anywhere, you are treated purely as a "body" and where best you can earn money is the only thing that matters. During the initial 2-3 years is a ragging period, and you will never be allowed to be at home, because obviously older resources are unwilling to travel and hence you are easy prey since you are new.

Pros

I learned a lot while at the company. Great if you want to be an accountant.

Cons

Tim Ryan does not seem to be following the same strategy of his predecessor - whereas Bob Moritz operated under the assumption that PwC's assets are it's people, Tim seems to be pushing an agenda that disincentivizes people from continuing with the firm. Since becoming chairman, he has pushed a major cost-cutting initiatives, trimming down health insurance plans, decreasing bonuses and number of annual promotions, and - most recently - adding an additional staff class level to the Advisory practice that decreases upward mobility. I am not sure if all of this is part of a strategy to get people to leave the company due to decreased government regulatory requirements (and thus, an expected drop in business), but if so, the plan is working. The most talented half of my team has already quit, with several others on their way out.
