Pros

Respected name, great colleagues Everyone benefits somehow from working for PwC

Cons

low pay NO TRAINING BUDGET? YOU MUST BE KIDDING... Salary freeze??? a 3% inflation rate increase for all employees would have cost partners an 0.1% pay cut of their average £800K /annum salary Lots of travel for the salary with no extra pay for being away from home 200+ days a year Low Bonuses if any Still an Accounting firm, to compete in consulting PwC should invest in people as much as Mckinsey does. PwC Diploma?? costs as much as an MBA... to learn about soft skills, a joke of a degree. Only recognised at PwC UK... are partners worried that people would leave afterwards if they sponsor an MBA? then they should pay competitively

Pros

Excellent exposure to a broad variety of projects, clients, and smart people. Constantly in learning mode as the exposure challenges you, always put outside the comfort zone your skills stay sharp and evolves. If you get in with the right clique, you will get exposed to the best projects. Learn which managers you work with best and just stick with them.

Cons

Highly political place. Reviews process is arcane and illogical. Managers spend time writing descriptions of projects, but the review is done by people who have no logical connection to you. Sure if you know someone in the review process who can bat for you, you will be in better footing but wouldn't it make sense to be reviewed by someone who actually *gasps* works with you!?! Pay is static, the pay you come in at is what you get paid until you get promoted. Vacation time and personal life is non-existent. You will work long hours and travel a ton, and that is expected as a baseline. Some people are highly competitive and will step on you to get ahead. Highly matrixed, difficult to find your place unless you have a helping hand (insider to help you)

Pros

- Good for your CV; - A lot of things to learn.

Cons

- Bad environment; - Top management absent, useless, stubborn and clearly lacking of the most basic management skills; - Lack of Work-Life balance; - Promotion, salaries and bonuses are decided by partners just for politically reasons; - The assistants and consultants do boring and useless job having nothing to do with the tax matters;
