It really depends

Pros

I personally had a very good experience, coming in as an Associate with 1-2 years work experience and already having a specialized field of expertise (industry focus) to concentrate on. Got really lucky with my manager (coach) and team lead and was able to work on a ton of really interesting projects relevant to my areas of interest - therefore had a great development experience.

Cons

That being said, I've seen a lot of people who had quite the opposite experience than me - having bad luck with project and/or people managers, being (continuously) staffed on projects that are completely relevant to their skills and interests, and overall feeling not appreciated and/or burned out. Overall, it really depends and what team and with which people you end up with, but also make sure you come in with realistic expectations and ensure from day 1 that your expectations and those of the people you work for are aligned and continue to be aligned.
