Pros

The pay was good. There are plenty of opportunities to pitch for engagement and learn about the industry.

Cons

Onboarding experience was bad for someone new to Big 4. Newly promoted managers get an in-person training programme, but this did not apply to newly hired managers, which did not make sense. Most of the onboarding was done via online learning. The culture was very hierarchical. Senior managers could be rude and condescending if you voice out alternatives. On the other hand, partners can be nurturing and helpful. Projects can be poorly planned without considering of resourcing or capabilities, leaving junior staff to work overtime to deliver on engagement.

Pros

1. Very good pay 2. Great benefits 3. Opportunity for travel 4. Opportunities for advancement NOTE: This review reflects the PwC consulting/advisory practice only and not the audit practice of PwC.

Cons

1. Can be very long hours (12-18hr days, sometimes 7 days a week and holidays. During our project go-live I worked 7 days a week on holidays for 3 months, That is when I realized this job was not sustainable for my desired lifestyle). 2. Disrespectful management (I was in a MS Teams call with my director and a pear of mine. The director starting ripping into my coworker in a uncalled for manner with me still on the call. Because of the workload and disrespect we had a lot of turnover). 3. Poor work/life balance. You are either always traveling (On the road M-Th, home Fri) or stuck at home working remote. 4. Lack of responsibility and integrity. Before our client/team meetings my director would tell me to make sure we were not at fault for anything that was not going as planned. We had to make sure it was some other teams/ the clients fault.

Pros

Standards have decreased dramatically since they’ve shipped jobs to unskilled laborers overseas.

Cons

PwC would like all stateside assistants to leave so they can ship our positions overseas. They have been like lowering pay, micromanaging, ignoring employee concerns, not providing growth opportunities, failing to recognize achievements, creating a hostile work environment, playing favorites and making significant changes to our schedules to force us to find new jobs. These tactics are unethical and cruel.
