Pros

Excellent place for a career start. Diversity in background and experience of the employees. Excellent training programs. An opportunity to work with and learn from great, knowledgeable and skillful professionals. The benefits package.

Cons

Favoritism in assigning work and in promotions. Politics vs. merit, which leads to a low morale and lack of motivation. Relatively low pay. Weak HR support and assistance. Formality in the mentor, coach programs. Great ideas from the Firm's high management do not get the proper application, execution at a "field" level. Emphasize on productivity and utilization without providing adequate administrative personnel support. Unexplainable feeling of guild, despite the long hours, overtime and misbalanced work-life lifestyle.

Pros

big name on the resume; great place to start out with as college fresh graduate; exposure to different public companies, who are usually fairly sophisticated so not much spoon-feeding to them; smart professional coworkers (most of the time and this varies by office).

Cons

bad HR, not supportive, just thinking about lightening their workload. some managers are unprofessional, and you won't want to be one of them later. many forms to fill out before you can sign off from a job - really CYA (cover your ass) because you are dealing with public clients. Life and work balance is not a problem for PwC alone, just to be fair - if you want to learn, better put in the time!

Pros

A great place to build networking relationships and gain exposure to a variety of experiences. The work always seems to be challenging, and most internal programs are sufficient to build your career. The opportunities for learning and education are also a plus to working for one of the large accounting firms

Cons

Compensation is lacking. Firms policy is to pay cost of labor for the market you live in and not the cost of living, so if you live in an area where it is expensive to live but the labor force is educated and strong then the cost of that labor will be low for the firm and they will pay accordingly. Also, from communications with National HR and locas HR the firms policy with regards to benefits and all compensation is to be in the middle when compared to their competitors. They do not seem willing to pay to reduce turnover. I guess they seem content to keep burning them out and turning them over.
