Pros

Working at PwC has been one of the best decisions I made coming out of school. From the very beginning you get great exposure to top-level people within the firm and at your clients. You see how different businesses are structured and operate, and get a feel for real world application of the accounting practices you learn in school. The people within the firm are unbelievably intelligent, and the firm itself does a great job of focusing on quality. The job is fast paced and always pushes you slighly outside of your comfort zone. You'll be shocked at how much you learn in just a short period of time.

Cons

It's hard to think of this as a sustainable career choice long-term. The time commitment is substantial.

Pros

The company had a strong focus on training and development, and the UK supports your qualification (ACA through the graduate route) financially and for time off.

Cons

First year's salary had not changed much (if at all) for about 5 years, the only pay increase you get is through going up the grades. The company encourages you to recoup more for 'additional efforts' from the clients but you generally don't get a share of these unless you are part of the senior management.

PwC has been really good about trying to listen to me in regard to getting me on the clients in the location that I would like to be at.

Cons

Like any Big 4 accounting firm finding balance in your life is difficult. With long hours and constant living of being the auditor it is difficult to find satisfaction in your job.
