Pros

Location: San Diego is one of the best location you can work in US.

Cons

GPU is probably the worst department in Qualcomm headed by bunch of clowns. Promotion is only given to sycophants. Unless you are close the the small circle which controls the department, you stand no chance. People in this circle are one of the dumbest in the industry who will eventually blame their failure (almost every project is a certain failure) on employees. Annoyingly, You will always be compared against these people by your manager. Managers are the worst, at times abusive. Outright liars. If you are on immigration , STAY AWAY: Every single day your manager will remind of the HUGE favor done to you by filing your immigration. After all the mental tortue you get every week, your pay is one of the lowest in semiconductor industry.

Pros

* Benefits are good, but not as great as they were in 2008 when I joined; Healthcare, bonuses and stock took a significant hit after the Fall layoff of 2015. * Employee is generally taken care of and has many additionally benefits aside from the aforementioned.

Cons

Too many managers with conflicting interests, overlapping areas of focus, and their own agendas with no repercussions for their misuse of resources or their failing to follow corporate policies; essentially many little unaligned kingdoms fighting for territory.
