Once a superb technology oriented company now losing direction
Pros
Latest wireless silicon, powerful apps processors, bright coworkers and fast paced environment. Very good infrastructure and facilities such as library, gyms, cafeteria etc.
Cons
Too much politics. Too many high titled folks earn their pay by sending emails day in day out. Don't know what they do and are very poor technically. People making noise are dear to management. Some senior directors take care of their leads even if they are dumb a**es. I frankly don't understand the role of so called project engineers and project managers. In some money losing groups these folks outnumber engineers! These folks are technically so poor, they don't have a future outside this company. But they are sitting here and drawing fat paychecks. Rampant favoritism in hiring and intra company transfers. I heard stories from some guys who moved from India that their buddies who had moved earlier and by now become managers, made it all too easy for them to be transferred to San Diego. Too many loud people roaming the hallways and thinking they are truly great.
