Great Way to Start Your Career in Finance

Pros

- If you are hungry, there are a lot of growth opportunities within Customer Service and other roles in the company. - When starting my career, I was shocked at the level of autonomy that is available to Customer Service agents. The focus is on quality client interactions and not micromanaging agents. - The PEOPLE. I can't put more emphasis on this. They are the extremely kind and supportive. Colleagues become friends and family. - Great opportunities internally to seek out and foster mentorship relationships. - Most managers at this company follow an open-door policy and are extremely approachable. - Although Questrade has achieved a tremendous amount of growth, they were able to retain their startup culture. - There are great opportunities to network with the entire company such as the Passport Program and many internal as well as external trainings. - Questrade has helped to work around my personal obligations and have yet to experience work-life burnout due to a lack of flexibility.

Cons

- If you are not client-centric and a team player, you will not see growth in your career at Questrade. - Much like other companies, if you do not show an interest to want to grow you will not go far in this company. You need to be self-motivated and have an appetite to take on more in your existing role. - Benefits are not full coverage. - There is currently no coverage for maternity leave, this is of particular interest to young families thinking about having children.

Pros

- The people have a strong work ethic and are determined, optimistic, customer centric, and supportive of others. - Individual acknowledgement and recognition comes right from the top so you know your work is valued from the start. - Strong and inspiring upper management. Power is expressed with respect, compassion, and with your career development at heart. - There is some room for creativity and innovation at entry level. - There's a 'we care' attitude that permeates throughout the whole organization - If you're looking for a job, you will find a lot more than that at Questrade.

Cons

- Sometimes the competition between teams comes at a cost to sharing valuable insights and processes for the benefit of everyone. - Like most entry level positions in a corporation, your value is determined more so by your position and how well you execute what is expected, than what you do beyond it.
