Pros

Remote work, there's near nothing else. It's a paycheck.

Cons

There is no room for growth even though they promise it at the start of your time at Raytheon. And there's no incentive to perform even mediocre at your job because everyone you interact with can barely perform in theirs. The managers dismiss any legitimate concerns and criticisms for the organization, and instead prioritize busy work and over complicating procedures. All of the organization have been demanding an increase in salary because of the inflation rate growth, only for the CEO to send an email saying our concerns aren't legitimate, and to deal with it. It's nice to know your managers don't care about your concerns as long as their pockets are lined from fat bonuses. Since 2020 Raytheon can't retain employees due to their asinine COVID vaccine mandate and subpar compensation package. Many employees have left for competitors purely because of compensation, and Raytheon can't keep up with the losses. Save yourself the effort and look elsewhere for a position. If you have absolutely no other option, plan to stay here a year and run, that's what most do anyways. And if you were curious about the benefits, there's near none. You have only one option for health insurance: you either have their choice of an HSA or none at all. And there's very little in bonuses every year, mediocre pennies distributed to the plebeians that make their organization run.

Pros

Some programs are less toxic than others. I had a good experience with a smaller program, but the toxicity of Raytheon was more evident when I was moved to a larger program.

Cons

Sexual assault, even in its most vile forms, is covered up by HR. I ran to the HR department after I was assaulted looking for refuge but I didn’t realize that they use my vulnerability and tear filled eyes to manipulate me into signing papers saying I wouldn’t press charges. They told me that if I wanted the man prosecuted I had to sign the papers. It was a lie, but I took their word for it and didn’t read the papers until days later. When a second incident happened I went to HR, this time I wasn’t going to be victimized twice, and they apologized for the earlier dismissal of my concerns and when I asked about the HR person by first name and description they said no one by that name every worked there. They took my statement and I told them I wanted to press charges. Two days later, my skip level boss and assailant, told me I was moving to a new assignment where I would be sitting just across from him. He made my life hell by having his three direct reports micromanage and question everything I did. They even interrogated me about every person I talked to and if I had romantic feelings for them. I finally told one of them to eff off and I was immediately fired. It clearly states that vulgarity is grounds for dismissal so I had no leg to stand on. I spent a year being physically and sexually traumatized, being lied to by HR and harassed by my monster’s goblins. It is a wonder I made it through alive.

Pros

Pay and benefits are decent Projects can be interesting Lots of great people in the subsidiary businesses

Cons

In parts of the Enterprise Services group, employees are allowed and enabled to bully and mistreat subordinates with no regard for professional decency. If you report it to your someone directly or anonymously, your boss will likely find out and try to shut you up or distort the record of your performance so it looks like you were the problem. And if you file a complaint with the Ombudsman, they will hand the investigation back to the HR person who helped enable this unethical approach. If you are looking to work for this company, you are better off working for RMD, RIS, Pratt & Whitney, or Collins Aerospace as you will be treated better there.
