Pros

Raytheon is a good place to get your career started fresh out of college. If you are fortunate enough to work under a good manager they usually allow you to work a flexible schedule and also provide you with support when you need to deal with corporate.

Cons

Too much red tape! Getting simple tasks done usually requires lots of paperwork. Lots of politics involved, money doesn't get pumped into our section. This causes management to get penny pinch which translates to no bonuses at the end of the year. We have not had a traditional Christmas party in 2 years!

Pros

There are many opportunities across various functions and product lines. Raytheon being a part of many different adjacent markets allows exposure to many industries. Work life balance is a high priority as flex time makes the work schedule very manageable. There are a number of bright employees here, however limited by the corporate culture that management employs. It is a solid company with growing opportunities in many fields.

Cons

Once you show strengths in one area, they won't let you go. Career growth is limited by management's definition of grooming an employee

Pros

It takes forever to get hired there because of security concerns, etc. but when you get hired you have a job for life (if you want it). Benefits are good - they still offer a real pension plan (how unusual!). They provide wonderful products to keep our country and servicemen and women safe. It makes you proud to be doing your part for America.

Cons

Executive management (for the most part) has HUGE egos, which I guess is common for most executives. They like to take credit for other people's work and when their employees do the work they requested - and it wasn't what their superiors wanted or negative feedback is received - they're real quick to pass the buck and do whatever they have to do to CYA
