Pros

-great people -good opportunities depending on how hard you work

Cons

-pay is OK depending on which business unit you work at. Pratt is the worst with pay. -you are more than likely to get burnt out especially since they have you working 12+ hour days and every now and then the weekends -they care more about financials then their actual people

Pros

- Senior level engineers can do entry level engineer's job as long as you can find charge numbers - Management does not care which programs or tasks you do as long as you can find charge numbers

Cons

- Most section managers are useless, and have no authority. They are department manager's slave. Most of the time, they can not find charge numbers for their section members. - Upper management often threatens engineers on overhead charge numbers that they will be laid off if they do not get off overhead soon. I was on overhead for more than 6 months, and I was not laid off. - Many new hirers are on overhead charge numbers for several months when they start at Raytheon.

Pros

Great benefits, 401k, Vision, Dental, get 120 hrs of PTO from day one to use. AD&D and regular insurance as well as longterm and short term disability. Ability to reach out to other coworkers and ask for help or to offer help to others. You dont necessarily have to re-invent the wheel. Someone probably already used that tool, dealt with that problem etc. Great work life balance, some business units offer 4/10 or 9/80 as well as remote work.

Cons

Constant restructure of business units. This doesnt allow an employee to build a relationship with their manager or worse show what you have to offer. Seems like every 6 months you get a new boss who is in another state.
