Pros

Many different programs to choose from, good work-life balance, good compensation and benefits for work.

Cons

Though there are a lot of programs, your ability to work on them depends solely on your relationship with your manager and your networking skills. If you are at all passive, you lose. You will not get approved for training opportunities, you will not be short-listed for interesting projects, you will not get promoted. The only one looking out for you is you.

Pros

Raytheon is very flexible with time (flex time, paid time off, every other Friday off) which makes it a great place if you are juggling work/life balance (i.e., working parents). Raytheon also gives lots of opportunities to those who show initiative.

Cons

Raytheon prefers to train and develop talent internally. The result is a tendency to look inward rather than outwardly embracing learning opportunities. Also, training budget and opportunities are very inconsistent. Some employees get a lot and some not at all.

Pros

Compensation is very good. Job security at Raytheon Missile Systems is also very good. Talent and hard work are acknowledged fairly through raises and promotions.

Cons

Some tools used by Raytheon are very old, which can be quite frustrating to have to work with 20+ year old equipment. Unnecessary process can get in the way of engineering.
