Pros

There are lots of different opportunities, Signal Processing, GNC, Software, Hardware, Simulation, etc. Some people are nice and smart, some are not. I have seen people switch teams/departments, so you can learn new stuff. Thereare also chances you get to interact with other teams and learn some of their stuff. Raytheon offers tuition reimbursements, so you can take courses in university or take Raytheon offered accelerated classes onsite at your own time. 9/80 schedule, flexible time (for the most part). PTO is defense industry standard.

Cons

Raise is minimal. Salary is higher for new employees than someone that works there for years to climb up the ladder. Is this how you keep talents? If you work on company propriety stuff, you hardly get rewarded even if you do a good job. If you know how to kiss butt, you can get more opportunities even if you don't know much about technical stuff. Why? Assign the work to someone else in your team, so the team lead can share the same success with you by "good" management. Some people seem to talk their way up while some do all the hard work and still remains in a semi-high level.

Pros

Able to "bank" hours up to 40 hours, however this was being assessed when I left, unsure if this is still a thing.

Cons

Shift work, 12 hours, 4 days on 4 days off, at least that is what is told to you at first. A minimum of 2 overtime shifts a month, also if you do not/ are not able to do these shifts and more, you will not get a decent annual raise. Management is a joke. Example : Our boss dissiminates an email that the contract is going away, then holds a meeting to tell us not to worry. Another example, I had my boss tell me to not bother to apply for an internal job because I hadn't been there for a full year (10 months), During one of our crew meetings, he informs the crews he is disappointed no one applied for the internal job (I ended up getting the job, no thanks to him). The environment that is fostered is almost like high school, it is comical. as for career progression, there are really only two ways to go and they both cap out at E-3. Pay raises (expect about 1-2 %)

Pros

The amenities such as free beverages i.e. coffee, tea, etc. Available gym to keep in shape; Available training to advance oneself.

Cons

The pay and benefits package could be better. The 401k and match is below the industry average. The pay for engineers lags behind as well in many categories. The company has grown to become one of the bigs but at the expense of employees.
