Pros

A lot of international people in Marketing (if you are a MBA graduate from a top school, this would tick you off since these guys probably just did a 3 year degree in Arts or Science and started working for RB in Europe in sales and then in a few years got sent to the US as Senior Brand Managers or Marketing Directors) Fast Paced (lots of chaos for those who can thrive on it) Good Training Ground (if you want to be great in Trade Marketing, not good for brand management training because everything is very short term and sales focused, no concept of investing in brands and building equity like J&J, Unilever or P&G)

Cons

Work Life balance would need to be compromised Unclear management requires multiple rounds of rework Mid to low tier schools also being hired for MBA entry level positions so dont spend the extra $$$ on a top tier MBA. If you want to work here, a second tier MBA would also do. Overall salary is made to look competitive on paper because of large bonus component, but we all know, you cannot always meet all KPIs for getting a max on bonus.

Pros

Good salary on entry Good brand name

Cons

1. Top Management is pathetic. Rather than finding problem in the system, they find fault with the people and sack them. 2. No clarity of vision. No one know what is going to be in next 6 months, what are we targeting. Everything is just on boards on walls. Managers from other countries are deputed for short span of time who do not focus on long term goals and just focus on quick wins and go back to their home country. 3. The HODs of different departments do not report to the plant head. It is just in papers. They only care for their bosses sitting in corporate offices. This has lead to unresolved conflicts among HODs and poor performance over a period of time. 4. Bonus. which is a part of salary in the payslip, is deducted in the name of poor performance of the company.

Pros

best place to shine, commit and deliver, highest visibility, ownership, promotion anytime

Cons

Sociability, Visibility is first criteria to get promoted rather than performance. No loyalty. Underpaid all the time.
