Pros

Everyone works hard although note, you get paid on exceeding targets and not working hard (don't work out you are kicked out) Very fast moving (including getting rid of those that don't hit their numbers!!) Very unbureaucratic - top 400 can get to interact direct with bart International mobility plus international colleagues Good salary, top 400 excellent bonus when targets are met or exceeded Bart Surrounded by talented people (mostly as the others get sacked!) - can help you to grow if you get the right manager. Get to progress rapidly if you are very good and people like you Will help with your career later on in life when you leave (not if you leave!)

Cons

No work / life balance - even some PAs are working weekends!! Serious amounts of work and projects thrown at you Targets not met = no job - job security is not the word If people do not like you, you get sacked - harsh but that is how it goes No time for rest Focus on cost cutting (easyjet anyone! Although if you are travelling with top management somewhere far away, you can get away with business) Poor locations of offices globally No a lifer company - not many people are likely to stay with this company a long time. Those that do and perform well tend to do well, but most people cannot see themselves staying with this company more than 10 years, never mind for life Head office is very corporate and quiet with few friendly faces when you start - lack of buzz with the few kids around providing any vibe Most interaction by email - most email I have ever seen in my life - from countries, managers, suppliers, internal depts, own team and at all hours of day and night

Pros

No pros to working here with the current management team.

Cons

Management does not give a damn about anyone but their own selfish needs. Over the last year, they new management has been put in place the US, whose only motivation is money. They have eliminated many of the perks (i.e. Lovgevity gifts, anniversary lunch passes, possibly Summer hours). Now that 2009 is complete, they are offering raises of two percent (in some cases nothing), after another banner year - sales and profits up around 15%. All they care about is maxing their big bonus. Recently, there ws a new idea to make the place look like home (they call it an open environment), so they spent roughly 20 million dollars to refurbish the place. No privacy at all, no walls, you can see everyone. Good use of excess cash. It would have been better to save the 130 or so jobs eliminated last year. At this point, I believe only upper management are the happy ones here. 2010 appears to be another banner year for layoffs, probably this time in Finance, with a full restructure possible, and many more lives disrupted or destroyed. Why do they do it - because they can.
