Don’t think so big about SAP

Pros

When you join SAP, you could expect you are starting a dream job in a dream company. Big name to your CV, lots of trainings, smart people to work with, great solutions. But…

Cons

But be aware: that might not be true (and that won’t be necessarily your fault). Yes, it’s a big company, with great solutions. But with that “big” characteristic, there is also a lot of issues. Regardless of how well you do your job, you might spend 4/5/more years without any career development. You can have talks about that, but that won’t change anything. You’ll just stay at the same place because, after all, if you are good doing your job, why would they want to move you? This also a company where the processes are really really heavy. You can spend more time trying to overcome those processes than actually doing your job. What about all the “we are such a good company for our employees and the world”? Well, not exactly true. What’s the point of having EAP, for instance, if you have to work a lot more than you should? And how can a company be looking for sustainable goals if its CEO & friends travel on private jets because, of course, they are so important? And now, with the latest news with this new “remote” work policy… what a joke. Here, like in so many other big corporate, you are just a number. And you might even think that you are more than that because you work with cool people; but don’t be fooled: you are just a number and they replace you in a sec if they want to.

Big Changes, No Consideration

Pros

Excellent individual line manager who really cares about the team.

Cons

Senior leadership introduce "pledge to flex" and then remove it with no consultation to employee's. Requiring every employee to work 3 days per week from the office is not flexible or progressive.
