Great place and environment, the company is growing and putting a lot of efforts to integrate all companies which were aquired recently.

Cons

Some of subsidiaries are far ans their CEOs doesn't have the same vision as the the Headquarters

Schaefer is largely full of excellent, hard-working, talented individuals. The company produces a variety of interesting and exciting products.

Cons

The benefits and pay are sub standard, and there are some culture issues. Management does not seem to understand the significant cost of living difference in parts of the country.

Schaefer has good benefits, and everyone in the company is pretty nice to work with

Cons

I haven't been working here long enough to see many downsides, but the biggest so far is the documentation. It is almost impossible to find the things you are looking for unless someone has sat down and told you where everything is. There's also a lot of company specific naming conventions and assignments that could have easily been based on similar standard protocols. With less company-specific naming conventions and more organized documentation, the learning curve for new employees would be greatly diminished.
