I have learned new things about livestock reproduction and the cattle world.

Pros

Getting to know new faces from all over the world and being able to see how they raise their own livestock, also getting to see how they react when they see what we can do for them.

Cons

Working here has been very challenging in so many ways, there are clients that need to have the right info for them to be able to have the right breeds they ask for and if we do not have that information then we will look for it until we find it.

Interesting work - you are separating X and Y chromosomes.

Cons

Harassment is rampant. If I was there for 12 hours, I was sexually harassed for 12 hours. They seem to think since they are a supervisor or manager, they can harass you no problem. They over work you - sometimes I worked 13-14 hours a day (with only a half hour break) for 6 days a week. They said that was ok because this will get you 'ready' to work 12 hour shifts. Yeah ok right. It doesn't matter how hard you work or if you are excellent at your job, if you are not a butt-kisser who falls all over senior management in admiration, you will not go far. They will get rid of you. Owner, management, and some co-workers are not moral and ethical - these married men constantly hit on you at work.

Pros

Management treated us well. The work environment was good. Problems related to people arose only very rarely and when they did, they were addressed quickly. The job was relatively low stress and their expectations of employees were very reasonable. Management treated employees with diplomacy and respect. The work-life balance was very good.

Cons

Some of the people I worked with here could be very immature know-it-alls and prima donnas at times.
