Pros

Benefits and compensation really good. Opportunities to learn and grow Tech stack decent

Cons

Mandatory 3 day return to office without any form of flexibility, this is extremely difficult for people such as my self as I am a parent and have issues coming in 3 days a week during school holidays. When asking my manager and HR about this there isn’t a lot and was told to just find a new job by my manager if I’m not happy. Communication from directors and CEO terrible, no transparency and the same sentiment as per my own manager. We are told on the outside things are going great but on the inside it’s never good enough and therefore bonuses will suffer Tracking of IP addresses and card swipes is the final straw for me, it seems as though we don’t matter and are not trusted

Pros

The people are the only good thing about Sage

Cons

The false promises, lies from management. Forcing people into the office with zero consultation has been very damaging for the mental health for 100s, if not 1000’s of employees. There is absolutely no justification for this but just to get bums on seats of their new premises. It doesn’t make any sense when people have been working from home for years, with no negative impact on work output. In fact, productivity is up! But the message is clear from the top “you know where the door is, see ya!” So much for the Sage values of “trust”, “do the right thing” etc etc - just corporate garbage.

Pros

Some lovely people on the ground Unnecessarily nice offices Reasonably modern tech suite

Cons

Repeated waves of redundancies which expect those to survive to pick up the work of multiple fired colleagues with no compensation Meagre salaries and pay increases Insane office work policies forcing colleagues with 3+ hour commutes into the office 3 days per week to spend their entire day on Teams Callous leadership who wave their lack of respect for their employees as a badge of pride

Please note that our hybrid working approach is an important element of the way we work at Sage that is complemented by other benefits such as paid time to volunteer, the ability to work away for up to 10 weeks a year and free well-being support tools. We recently also answered several colleagues' questions about the new 3-day policy. If you've not seen this communication on our internal intranet site, it sheds more light on how colleagues will be supported as they adhere to our updated hybrid structure.
