More cons than pros right now

Pros

Decent benefits, great people to work with (but that's fading fast as people leave), some passion in the partner and customer base.

Cons

No chance for career growth or promotion, really bad management (both middle and corporate), the recurring cycle of layoffs and new hiring makes it seem schizophrenic, there is outrageous discrimination to the point where there are 2 classes of employees - those that work in the new office or on the CEO's pet projects get free snacks and sodas and other perks, while the second-class staff in other product lines and offices have to pay 75-cents or more for the same soda. Sage does not value it's employees (as evidenced by the constant cycles of layoffs and hiring) - even those that think they're special and work on 'global' teams. Sage is too big to fail - it can ride it's maintenance revenues for a while and survive even without organic growth. But because of it's lack of corporate strategy and toxic employee culture, it is losing market share everywhere in the world, has great employees leaving in droves, and a management that is either too selfishly trying to save their titles or are promoting themselves on the backs of employees that are struggling and cracking under the stress. And it's products and customers are paying the price.

Going downhill fast

Pros

Work life balance is one of the few good things that continue about Sage. The only other good thing is the people in my department. They are what keep me going every day.

Cons

Sage tries to say that we are in a time of transformation, but it is not clear what we are transforming into. From our perspective, there is no clear goal - just a lot of expectations and no appreciation. The fact that we are willing to move an entire department with no thought to the experience that we are letting out the door is unfathomable.

Pros

Great benefits with a decent work life balance. Good brand recognition despite having extremely stale products. Awesome co-workers and very little micro management.

Cons

For sales positions you are set up to fail....the organization has ZERO SALE CULTURE. The products are extremely old and outdated. With no real innovation or enhancements coming out, Sage is losing market share at an exponential rate. Morale is low which has led to a level of apathy that is almost comical. Internal systems are a nightmare which includes the complete and total lack of a CRM system. Most of my colleagues are actively looking for new employment opportunities.
