      'Legacy APC' employee: work was varied, productive, educational and fun.

      Pros

      They have a good atmosphere in the Rhode Island and California offices. There are plenty of opportunities for career changes, growth, travel and relocation. Employees have a strong sense of customer service. Dedicated Service and Sales employees.

      Cons

      Routine layoffs negatively affects morale. Politics changing with the APC-MGE merger in 2007. High turn-over rate in the call centers, but young and energetic atmosphere.

      Pros

      not too much pressure, targets are OK and not highly challenging

      Cons

      sometimes a very confusing corporate structure - a lot of people working in corporate central positions really have no clue on what is happening on the ground and are too far away from the customers. Executive management knows the strategic direction but a lot of middle manager are just parroting what other managers say without any inspirational or motivational skills.

      Pros

      SE really makes an effort to hear the opinions of their employees. They are headed in the right direction when it comes to creating a workplace where everyone would "want" to work. Upper management is acknowledging their employees comments and coming up with action plans to address them.

      Cons

      SE has gone through many changes. Their compensation structure appears to be in the lower mid range. Integrations of newly acquired companies is very poor. SE does not do a good job at integrating new companies. Their is no dedicated resource and the newly acquired company is basically left on their own to comply with all the new processes and procedures that Corporate is expecting them to comply with.
