Pros

Global Company with good opportunities for travel, advancement, and benefits. I am relatively new an have not experienced all the benefits yet. I am hoping that the benefits are coming quickly and are not just a recruiting tool. The company is concerned with the environment and community service activities. Marco Polo Program gives employees a chance to see the world for a period or time working in another country.

Cons

Very concerned with mobility. Personally, I do not mind to move to other locations in the beginning of my career, but am concerned that settling down will stop advancement opportunites. Work long hours without overtime compensation. Only two weeks of paid vacation.

Pros

The company tends to value a work/life balance. There are occasional company outings and parties to help engage employees.

Cons

Pelco often partitions its functions along rigid lines leading to impenetrable silos of knowledge and capability. Often times, wrangling an answer or solution out of someone or some organization produces a battle or wait far beyond the value of the desired outcome. Perhaps because of this, many people don't feel empowered to make meaningful decisions based on available data. Incentive "bonuses" are handed out as "Pelco points" that are good only for company-branded dress wear. Your base salary is your only income -- at least in Engineering.
