Pros

Siemens communicates all aspects of the company to it's employees. Since starting a little over 2 years ago, I feel that I have encountered very supportive management - they involve the employees first hand in decisons. I feel as though Siemens is very concerned about the well-being of the employees, both on the job and off. The plant manager knows almost all of the employees ( 375+), and has a genuine concern about them. Siemens provides a good working environment, and encourages the employees to be a part of the company, not just work for the company. All managers have an open door policy, not just in words, but in practice as well. Not to mention, they have great benefits!

Cons

I love my job, downsides are long hours, but I choose to work the hours.

Pros

Gain experience & benefits package. If you want to come into Siemens and learn it could be a great place to be. You learn from your colleges and there is constant encouragement to take additional classes. Good company to improve professional skills. The benefits package is great.

Cons

If you want to find career growth it will be more complicated. There is a lot information on the intranet describing possibilities but once you try to implement some suggestions in practice you'll find the process is extremely slow and cumbersome.

Pros

Good benefits, Decent salary if you negotiate it coming in, but forget about getting a decent annual raise. the top performers get less than the inflation rate. You are treated as an adult when it comes to your schedule, very flexible.

Cons

-Cult of personality culture. -Performance metrics are based on completely arbitrary factors, to the point where people worry more about the metrics, and less about whether or not they are actually doing a good job. -Sales force rules the roost. Internal politics always manages to derail needed changes. -Management completely out of touch with what occurs in the field. -Work lots of weekends and nights with no compensation. -From a project management standpoint it is known as a "weak matrix" organization, all power resides with funtional managers. -New York City is only fully "Unionized " area for the company, union employees operate with complete impunity. -No consideration for geography in salary bands, except San Francisco, they get a cost of living bump NYC does not.
