Pros

Good benefits, Decent salary if you negotiate it coming in, but forget about getting a decent annual raise. the top performers get less than the inflation rate. You are treated as an adult when it comes to your schedule, very flexible.

Cons

-Cult of personality culture. -Performance metrics are based on completely arbitrary factors, to the point where people worry more about the metrics, and less about whether or not they are actually doing a good job. -Sales force rules the roost. Internal politics always manages to derail needed changes. -Management completely out of touch with what occurs in the field. -Work lots of weekends and nights with no compensation. -From a project management standpoint it is known as a "weak matrix" organization, all power resides with funtional managers. -New York City is only fully "Unionized " area for the company, union employees operate with complete impunity. -No consideration for geography in salary bands, except San Francisco, they get a cost of living bump NYC does not.

Pros

Siemens is a huge company and therefore provides almost unlimited opportunities for career development and for promotion / advancement.

Cons

While there are huge opportunities for advancement due to the sheer size of the company, obtaining some of the opportunities requires a LOT of effort and willingness to put in huge amounts of hours to get noticed by someone at or above a certain level. While the top and top- middle management, and especially HR, certainly espouse the merit based pay system, continuous feedback, performance process, and high performance culture, the reality is that the day to day line managers aren't getting the message, and often recognize seniority and experience over performance, talent, and potential.

Pros

The compensation and benefits are very good. The people at my facility embrace team work.

Cons

The work life balance at our facility is given no attention. I know this not to be true at other locations. It seems as if little regard is given when employees are asked to make sacrifices with regard to their personal life. Goals are set for divisions/departments without any clear guidelines on how to achieve them.
