Pros

401K match Nice people close to cal train

Cons

As other SIG posts stated, leadership in need of a big game move change. Like any losing sports team, a new coach is needed with new staff. Currently, no one has much hope and no one is inspired. And there is seemingly no one in charge of the SF office. Look around. It's an uncared for office that could be way better with the right people. They even took away our pool table and guitar game. The leader's right hand people are rarely in the office, not responsive and don't seem to care to make things any better. The communication on all fronts is so bad or non existent. By the time we hear anything of relevance from our own managers, the leadership team is on to something else.

Pros

The people are generally nice.

Cons

The culture is very political, and most of leaders seem to be simply career managing instead of actually trying to move the needle. Promotions are few and far between, so the people that stick around are in it for a good, stable salary, but aren’t great talent. The painfully slow and unnecessarily complicated processes ingrained in the EDA business are also applied to their software business, creating unneeded frustration and just about zero agility. If this doesn’t change fast, the perceived competitive edge will disappear. The leadership team in the software group (SIG) has no focus whatsoever so nothing actually gets done.
