Pros

- Great San Francisco Location with office looking out to AT&T Park - A rock solid mothership business with seemingly infinite patience - So mismanaged and flush with cash that even the worst employees are given their full bonuses - Sales team is a well-oiled machine being run by an industry veteran and instills a sense of discipline in each of their roles

Cons

- By far, this most dysfunctional, political, and wildly optimistic i.e. blind executive team I've ever seen. While the BU has Integrity in its name, the same cannot be said for this highly political, highly paranoid, and departments that not only do not work well together, but flat out hate each other As soon as options vest - the smart people are out the door. I'm quite surprised that more oversight isn't put on our BU. -

Pros

-Professional environment -Kind, smart, understanding people with expertise in their field -Engagement from executive leadership -Competitive pay -Logical and practical leadership with a keen understanding of the market

Cons

Wind the clock back to 2001, when you still faxed stuff and Monica and Chandler got married. That's the culture here. If you're cool with that, this is a great place to work. If you're not then... -Masculine corporate values and policies. Women most often take the "housekeeping" roles of the company: taking notes, cleaning up, catering, food distribution, scheduling meetings, printing documents, etc. -No resources/budget support for social media either for communication with employees or marketing -Forget working from home -Traditional, siloed, hierarchical culture -Caucasian- Christian- centered corporate events mostly around Christmastime -Tactical, execution focused instead of strategic and value-driven -Years of service recognized and rewarded (for good reason), but very little achievement-based recognition for individuals or teams -Unclear criteria for bonuses or evaluations -Because of a security "issue" Gmail (and all other email clients or cloud clients) are blocked -Networking outside of your org is not supported or encouraged -A gate was built around building 8 to keep out LinkedIn employees, but they let us walk in their parking lot to get to other Synopsys buildings. General philosophies: You talk to your boss, who talks to my boss, who talks with me. It's the way we've always done it, why would we change? The lunch hour lasts exactly 60 minutes. Don't take personal calls on "company time". Butts in seats! Don't leave your dishes in the sink your mom or maid don't work here! I don't know why or how this task is valuable. Someone just asked me to do it. So I did it.

As a company we are committed to a positive working environment for all employees, equitable pay practices, and take all pay decisions seriously. We have multiple levels of review in place to ensure bonus decisions are appropriate to the individuals performance and contribution during the year. As a result of your Glassdoor feedback we performed an additional review for employees on leave in Synopsys India and are satisfied that a fair decision making process occurred. We encourage you to discuss your individual situation with your manger or local HR team. We’d like to better understand your personal concerns and how we can help.
