Pros

- A range of clienteles to work for. - Variety of jobs - TATA group is a well known established 'organisation'

Cons

First things first this is not a direct attack but this is a HONEST and also ACCURATE representation of my EXPERIENCE and what I witness during my 2+ years at Tata. I am surprised I've survived this long with this organisation and honestly wished I left sooner. **The Organisation** First and foremost, everyone whom I've met either past or present has honestly nothing good to say about this organisation. Regardless if it's the employees or the clients who have commented on TCS. It's actually pretty embarrassing to work for them and I'm glad I'm finally out of this organisation. I knew this when I applied but I thought I'll give TCS a chance to prove me wrong despite all the negative experiences I've heard. Truth be told, I would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone probably not even to my worst enemy (you're probably better off scooping poop honestly then deal with these people who constantly mess if your psyche) and because they had such a 'revolving' door process and a 'We'll take whoever we can get' mentality - I got the job. ** Work Culture ** Managers are not at all professional and I'm sure people agree that they treat you like 'dirt'. Some have that 'I'm more experienced and educated than you, so I'm better than you' mentality. Given that this is an Indian based services organisation there is no major innovative competitors to them so there will always be jobs. You have native language speaking (South Asian) employees particularly from different parts of India who end up speaking in their native tongue at work. I've have heard many many times for employees to speak english but shouldn't that be a given - given you work in a English speaking organisation? ** Professionalism** It's sad to say but upper management are ridiculously incompetent, EXTREMELY useless and condescending. I'm sure they're nice people outside of work but they are extremely unprofessional when it comes to handling situations. It feels like they only chase you up and harass you when they know they're getting verbally abused by upper management. You can tell by the way they try to approach you via e-mail or phone and have NO respect for your job or your feelings. Extremely unprofessional in the way they approach you. Sometimes I will get calls at ~8pm at night about something work related. Why could've you not have managed your time properly or perhaps be considerate and perhaps call during 'business hours' when approaching your staff????? Why do you people not take any ACCOUNTABILITY when things are wrong on your end but end up lashing out on your employees and making them think they are in the wrong for YOUR actions. The method of approach sometimes is unprofessional and lack lustre but let's not get too technical. They sometimes createinformal WhatApp groups and discuss work related things outside of work hours and some staff who are in higher management get one of their juniors to do their work for them ** Progression ** Like mentioned before, some of the employees lack professional etiquette and empathy for their associates. I won't diverge into that anymore (refer to example above) You will not get or barely get ANY progression and you'll be stuck in this organisation working like a dog. They say they "value their employees" but honestly, where is the value??? Using an online portal with generic training material is like giving a child an iPad and say, here read a book?? When you inquire about any resources or training they always make an excuse or make it extremely tedious to obtain anything that involves cost. eg. If you want to do a training course to enhance your professional profile you'll have to pay for it out of your own pocket and then HOPE the someone in upper management approves of it. If you're lucky it might be 3 months or something until you see that money. Other organisations like Accenture, EY, Deloitte, KPMG possibly are not in the same calibre? But at least they can afford to pay for the employees training / subsides it without hurdling and chasing up HR/whoever to get their money back? I shall reiterate again, this is not out of frustration but observation and experience. **Renumerations** Renumeration is extremely bad and despite them telling me it's 'Market Rate' I believe I'm getting underpaid compared to my counterparts I work with in the same industry. Barely any pay rises besides inflation, I don't or haven't heard of any bonuses....

Pros

Got to work with some talented people. I cant think of anymore

Cons

Working 10+ hours the day is normal. No notice of when to work on weekends. You will deal with some garbage managers(on farmers and TCS side). Client never takes responsibility for any mistakes, its always TCS fault. You will be expected to complete whatever the client asks for, even if it is unrealistic. TCS employees are treated ALOT worse than other consulting companies
