Where do I begin with the cons? Communication is terrible at this company. You will have trouble understanding what is expected of you, how the organization functions, and even who your direct supervisor is. The training was thorough, as mentioned above, but so hopelessly disorganized and endlessly tedious. The employee portal and the internal admin services are total junk and completely disorganized. It takes an advanced degree to simply access your own tax information. Needlessly complex. I was hired to be a software engineer, that's what I'm qualified for and that's the career path I chose. Within TCS, you will be contacted by people looking to recruit you to internal contracts. I was contacted and subsequently misled about what I would actually be doing once I joined this project. I have not done a day of SWE work since joining TCS, and the project I joined instead had me clearing system administration tickets in a dashboard. My overall advice to anyone with little experience considering TCS as an entry point to the software industry: run. Run away from this company, it isn't worth it. You'll waste months of your life and probably gain little to no experience, making your job search after TCS even more difficult. Save yourself.
